What is HeyDonna?

HeyDonna is an AI-powered transcript editor designed specifically for court reporters. It combines AI transcription, synchronized audio playback, and AI-assisted proofreading to help you produce court-ready transcripts faster.

Who is HeyDonna for?

HeyDonna is built for:

• Court reporters who want to reduce transcription time
• Scopists who edit and proofread transcripts
• Legal transcription services handling depositions and hearings

How much does HeyDonna cost?

HeyDonna is currently in invite-only beta. Pricing will be announced when we launch publicly. Beta users get free access during the beta period.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your audio files and transcripts are:

• Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3)
• Stored encrypted at rest
• Never used to train AI models
• Deletable at any time

We take confidentiality seriously - we know you're handling sensitive legal documents.

Audio & Transcription

What audio formats are supported?

HeyDonna supports:

• MP3
• WAV
• M4A
• WebM
• OGG

What's the maximum file size?

You can upload audio files up to 4 hours in length. There's no strict file size limit, but very large files may take longer to process.

How long does transcription take?

Typically 1-3 minutes per hour of audio. A 2-hour deposition usually takes 3-5 minutes to transcribe.

How accurate is the AI transcription?

The AI provides a working draft, not a finished product. Expect 85-95% accuracy depending on:

• Audio quality
• Number of speakers
• Background noise
• Technical terminology

You'll still need to proofread - but starting from 90% accuracy is much faster than starting from zero.

Does HeyDonna identify speakers?

Yes. The AI automatically detects different speakers and labels them (Speaker 1, Speaker 2, etc.). You can rename these labels to actual names in the editor.

Editor

Can I edit while audio is playing?

Yes! The editor supports full editing during playback. Click a word to jump to that timestamp, make edits, and continue listening.

Does HeyDonna auto-save?

Yes. Your work is automatically saved as you type. You'll see "Saved" in the toolbar when changes are synced.

Can I undo AI changes?

Absolutely. All AI proofreading changes appear as tracked changes. You can:

• Accept individual changes
• Reject individual changes
• Accept all / Reject all
• Undo with Ctrl+Z

Export

What export formats are available?

• DOCX - Microsoft Word format with full formatting
• PDF - Print-ready format (coming soon)

Can I use my own templates?

Yes! You can upload your own DOCX templates with your firm's formatting, headers, footers, and styles. HeyDonna will apply your transcript content to your template.

Are line numbers included?

Yes. DOCX exports include proper line numbers, typically 25 lines per page for legal transcripts.

What browsers are supported?

HeyDonna works best in:

• Edge

We recommend using the latest browser version for best performance.

Does HeyDonna work offline?

Currently, HeyDonna requires an internet connection. Offline support is planned for a future release.

Can multiple people edit the same transcript?

Not currently. Each transcript is edited by one person at a time. Collaboration features are on our roadmap.
