Tips for Memorizing Shortcuts
Audio Shortcuts (J, K, L Pattern)
The audio shortcuts follow a familiar pattern used in video editing:
- J = Back (Jump back)
- K = Play/Pause (Kill/start)
- L = Forward (Leap forward)
Speed Shortcuts (< > Pattern)
Speed controls use comma and period, which look like < and >:
- , = Slower (less than, decrease)
- . = Faster (greater than, increase)
Most Used Shortcuts
Focus on learning these first:
- Cmd/Ctrl+K - Play/Pause (you'll use this constantly)
- Cmd/Ctrl+S - Save (build the habit)
- Cmd/Ctrl+Z - Undo (essential for editing)
- Cmd/Ctrl+F - Find & Replace
