Tips for Memorizing Shortcuts

Audio Shortcuts (J, K, L Pattern)

The audio shortcuts follow a familiar pattern used in video editing:

  • J = Back (Jump back)
  • K = Play/Pause (Kill/start)
  • L = Forward (Leap forward)

Speed Shortcuts (< > Pattern)

Speed controls use comma and period, which look like < and >:

  • , = Slower (less than, decrease)
  • . = Faster (greater than, increase)

Most Used Shortcuts

Focus on learning these first:

  1. Cmd/Ctrl+K - Play/Pause (you'll use this constantly)
  2. Cmd/Ctrl+S - Save (build the habit)
  3. Cmd/Ctrl+Z - Undo (essential for editing)
  4. Cmd/Ctrl+F - Find & Replace

Customization

Currently, keyboard shortcuts cannot be customized. We're considering adding customization in a future update.
