Customize how your transcript appears in the editor with these view options.
Whitespace Markers
Show or hide invisible characters like spaces, tabs, and paragraph marks. This helps you see exactly what's in your document.
Enabling Whitespace Markers
Keyboard Shortcut: Press Cmd+Shift+8 (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+8 (Windows/Linux)
Menu: Go to View → Whitespace Markers
What You'll See
When whitespace markers are enabled:

Display Modes
Choose how whitespace markers are displayed:
- Minimal - Only shows paragraph marks (¶)
- All - Shows all whitespace characters
When to Use
Whitespace markers are helpful when:
- Formatting issues - Diagnosing unexpected spacing
- Template work - Ensuring proper indentation
- Pasting content - Seeing what was imported
- Training - Learning proper formatting conventions
Whitespace markers only affect what you see—they don't appear in exported documents.
Zoom Controls
Adjust the editor zoom level to fit your preference and screen size.

Menu Access
Go to View → Zoom to access zoom options.
Zoom Presets
Choose from preset zoom levels:
- 50% - See more of the document
- 75% - Reduced size
- 100% - Default size
- 125% - Slightly larger
- 150% - Easier to read
Fit Modes
Two automatic fit modes adjust zoom based on your window:
- Fit Width - Scales so the page width fits your window
- Fit Page - Scales so the entire page fits in view
When to Use
- Large monitors - Use Fit Width for comfortable reading
- Proofreading - Zoom in (125-150%) for detail review
- Overview - Zoom out (50-75%) to see document structure
- Presentations - Fit Page when showing documents to others
Line Numbers
Show or hide line numbers in the left margin.
Enabling Line Numbers
Go to View → Line Numbers to toggle line numbers on or off.
When to Use
Line numbers are useful for:
- Legal transcripts - Tracking specific testimony
- Review discussions - "See line 42"
- Quality control - Consistent reference points
Page View
Toggle the paginated view that shows page breaks.
Enabling Page View
Go to View → Page View to toggle between:
- Page View - Shows page breaks and margins (recommended for legal work)
- Continuous - Flows without page breaks
Page View is recommended for legal transcripts as it shows exactly how the document will print.
